Relax in front of a campfire and listen to the coyotes howl after a days work on the ranch. Drive cattle through through this incredibly scenic area and live the cowboy lifestyle out on the open range.
This is a real cowboy experience, you will spend a week helping with the cattle, mostly from horseback. Gathering and driving cattle, holding herd, cutting out cow and calf pairs, roping calves, branding, doctoring and wrangling horses will all form part of your holiday. You will be intimately involved in the day to day life of ranch life and will fully experience what its like to be a cowboy.
Accommodation is in comfortable and authentic home steader camps, which have been used from around the 1900s. Evenings are spent enjoying the camp cuisine and sharing stories around the campfire or maybe practicing your roping skills in a competition against other guests!
This is a truly authentic experience and for those who dream of riding western style under the endless American skies you would have to look very hard for a better way to experience the dream.
This is a working holiday and it is advised although not entirely necessary that you are a competent and fit rider to participate in this trip. Although you do as much or as little work as you want, you will get more out of the trip if you are already comfortable in the saddle.
