THE MOUNTAIN GORILLAS
This is an experience of a lifetime, walk through the dense undergrowth of the Virunga Volcanoes tracking one of the most endangered species in the world. You never know when you might stumble across a group of gorillas, but when you do you realise why this is one of the top wildlife experiences in the world.
You arrive at the lodge that will be your base for this trip after being driven through the beautiful terraced landscape of Rwanda. You awake ready to head out into the mountain forest to look for gorillas. Tracking gorillas through the forest is a magical experience - you have no idea how long it will take to find them but the landscape is so spectacular that there is plenty to occupy you while you search. Once you discover a group you spend an hour with them before travelling back.
The next day you can go out searching for gorillas again or you can also track golden monkeys in the forest, climb one of the nearby volcanoes, visit one of the beautiful local villages or visit Dian Fossey's grave.
This trip offers a brilliant trip with a serious purpose - mountain gorillas may not be around for ever. By visiting you are helping in some small way to preserve them for the future.
