MERU, LAIKIPIA AND MARA
When you go on safari you want to get the best experience possible and this trip really offers it. Combining three areas in Kenya you have the greatest chance to notch up the largest and most diverse range of animal encounters possible. Spot rhino in Meru National Park, striped hyenas in Laikipia and huge herds of zebra and wildebeest in the Mara.
You begin the trip in the Meru National Park, the setting for Born Free and, with few other camps, the chance of seeing anyone else is remote, giving you a very private experience. However the chances for spotting game are much higher, with 13 rivers flowing through the area the variety of wildlife is impressive. Spend a few days looking around before moving on to your next location.
Next up is the Laikipia highlands, this part of the trip specialises in more active pursuits with walking, riding and camel safaris all on offer. The area also has a huge array of wildlife to look for including rare species such as the striped hyena and aardwolf.
Finally you move into the Maasi Mara, famous for its game migrations, this is a chance to see one of nature's greatest spectacles as huge herds of wildebeest and zebra with their attendant predators migrate in search of grazing. You will be based in a remote location and will therefore avoid the crowds giving you unrestricted game viewing access.
This is a one of the best safari experiences out there. It offers a varied range of encounters and activities in three of the most spectacular areas in Kenya. It has experienced and friendly guides and the scenery is pretty good too! This trip ticks all the boxes for those wanting to go on safari.
