SELOUS SAFARI
300,000 acres of wilderness are waiting, just for you to, to be explored. Whether by foot or canoe this private reserve is a wonderland set deep within Tanzania's south. With large populations of the classic game animals and plenty of other less well known inhabitants, there is plenty to be on the look out for. The sheer size of the reserve means that it contains a large number of ecosystems, with diverse flora and fauna and this makes for an exciting and varied trip.
Being on foot means that you can get closer to all the action taking place in the park. This doesn't just mean getting close, well as close as possible, to the big animals but also to the small animals and to all the other bits and pieces that make this such a fascinating place - tracks, signs, plants, the list goes on. You never know what you are going to encounter, but by being on foot you can be certain your guides won't let you miss the smallest thing.
If you get a little tired of walking then this trip also offers canoeing. Glide over the waterways viewing the wildlife from a different perspective. Watch out for giant kingfishers, among other animals, they may not be big enough to carry you away but compared to our own British species they are impressively large!
This trip focuses on what you want to do, with an emphasis on a close connection with the the landscape and the wildlife. Nothing is set in stone and you head out each morning with an open mind ready to embrace what you find. Your guides will be on hand to show you around and make sure you don't miss anything interesting, you simply have to be on the lookout for new experiences.
