CANOE DOWN THE ZAMBEZI

Navigate the legendary Zambezi river and explore the shoreline of the Mana Pools by canoe and on foot. This trip allows you to experience the excitement of a true expedition with close encounters with elephant, hippos and lions, among other large game, and a camp that moves on everyday to new adventures.

Mana Pools National Park is a World Heritage site, situatedin Northern Zimbabwe on the banks of the Zambezi, with flood plains producing incredible ecological diversity. Wildlife includes elephant, buffalo, lion, wild dog, eland, kudu, waterbuck, to name but a few, and the park is home to more than 350 species of birds.

Canoeing the Zambezi allows interaction with the bush and its 450 square kilometres there is a vast variety of flora and fauna, with a mixture of hills and wildlife, and is the most varied trip available. The sense of achievement and enjoyment is like no other.

What it might lack in decorative touches it more than makes up for by getting you into the outdoors. Mobile camps allow you to move on with ease to find new adventures. They also cut away the distractions of the modern world and cocoon you with nature which makes for a more rounded experience - you don't shut nature out when you go to bed. Imagine sitting round the fire on the river bank of the Zambezi and then being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the African bush......

A mobile tented camp will have have large and sturdy tents, that you can stand up in. The bed are comfortable and made up with linen. Each tent will have a private bush bathroom with bucket showers and long or short drop toilets. The camp will be moved on and reerected by the camp staff while you enjoy the days activities. You will then return to camp for a delicious meal and drinks around the campfire.
