Mount Kilimanjaro Climb
This trip takes you from the flat plains of Tanzania to Africa's highest peak. Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain rising above the surrounding landscape to 5,895m above sea level. Reaching the summit is a difficult undertaking and shouldn't be underestimated, but imagine the feeling of accomplishment when you arrive on the top in time to see dawn breaking over Tanzania - fingers crossed for a clear day!
You will spend 2 days in the wilderness reserve in West Kilimanjaro, with a chance to meet the Masai and to see some of the biggest elephants left in Africa. You will then begin your ascent of Kilimanjaro, taking 7 days to reach the summit, allowing time for acclimatisation to the altitude and a proper appreciation of your spectacular surroundings. The trip is planned for you to reach the summit early on day 11 in time for sunrise. Nights on the climb are spent in comfortable, spacious tents.
This is one of the best ways to tackle Kilimanjaro if you are less than expert! The longer approach means more time for acclimatisation and it is more remote, getting you away from the crowds. As a bonus there are two days added on the the wilderness surrounding Mount Kilimanjaro giving you a chance to explore the area beyond the mountain.
