LAKE MALAWI SAILING SAFARI
Lake Malawi is a spectacular freshwater lake with clear, warm water and many small islands. It is said to have more species of fish than any other body of water in the world, whether this is true or not we couldn't possibly say but the diversity is pretty stunning. A sailing safari is an excellent way to appreciate the beauty of this location, getting out on the lake away from land allows you to really engage with what makes this such a special place.
You will spend 2 nights based at Cape Maclear exploring the local area by bike, on foot or even underwater! On day 3 you will set sail for 3 nights aboard, dropping anchor in secluded coves and enjoying the wildlife and scenery on route to your next anchorage. Fishing, diving, swimming, snorkeling and walking will all form part of your adventure.
During this trip you can expect an interesting selection of wildlife, including crocodiles, hippopotamus, monkeys and, if you duck your head underwater, hundreds of species of fish, some of which are beautifully coloured.
Lake Malawi is a truly beautiful place to visit, with a varied coastline and crystal clear waters. If getting out on (or under) the water sounds like heaven to you, then this could be just the place.
