KANANA MAKORO TRAILS
All you can hear is the rustle of reeds and grasses as you pass through the waterways of the Okavango Delta. You are immersed in a world very far from the one we know - no cars, mobile phones or computers. You are connected to nature, waiting to catch sight of some of the myriad game that inhabits the area or simply enjoying the peace and the spectacular scenery.
This is an exclusive and flexible trip allowing a small group of people to get close to the wildlife of the Okavango Delta. The Makoro is a traditional canoe and allows its occupants to glide quietly through areas otherwise inaccessible to people. You will be on the look out for rarely seen animals such as the Sitatunga, a variety of antelope adapted for living in swampy areas, and Pel's Fishing Owl, among others.
During this trip you will spend 3 days exploring the area from your base of a small tented bush camp, set deep within the wonderland of small islands that make up this part of the Okavango Delta. Spend the mornings exploring then rest over the heat of the day before heading out again in the late afternoon. On your return you will be met with iced drinks, a hot shower and tales around the campfire.
