AMBOSELI HORSE RIDING SAFARI
Game viewing by horseback is a special experience. It allows you to get close to the animals without all the noise of a vehicle, so you feel more connected to nature and the landscape. It also has with added bonus of the adventurous feel of cantering over the African plains, never knowing who you might meet behind the next bush!
This trip sees you travel over 90 miles exploring the Amboseli and Chyulu Hills region. You will travel from the border town of Namanga, through Amboseli and onto the Chyulu Hills, viewing Lake Amboseli and the foothills of Kilimanjaro as you go. To end the trip you head up to Deloraine in the Great Rift Valley. This trip involves travelling between camps offering a more diverse experience - by not staying in one place for too long there are always fresh adventures to be had.
The game viewing opportunities on this trip are excellent, see elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland, gerenuk, a glimpse of a lesser kudu, impala, wildebeest, Grant's and Thompson's gazelle to name but a few. In addition to the larger animals your guides will be able to point out the many smaller or more wary animals that are just as interesting.
In addition to the wildlife the landscape in this area is stunning, with Lake Amboseli and its surrounding marshes, the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Chyulu hills, which rise to 7000ft all providing a stunning backdrop and plenty of photo opportunities.
This is a ride for experienced riders. You will be riding in remote country in the presence of big game. You should, therefore, be comfortable at all paces, have a secure seat and be a regular rider.
