Fish River Canyon Horse Trail
This is riding without limitations! Nambia has to be one of the most striking and unique countries in the world and this trip takes you to one of its, admittedly many, spectacular sights. This trip combines fantastic scenery and an amazing sense of space as you ride along the Fish River Canyon, the second largest in the world. Gallop across desert plains, enjoy the views from lookouts over the canyon and relax in the hot springs at Ais-Ais, perfect for easing sore muscles.
This trip begins around 8 hours south of Windhoek, from here you begin your trek along the Fish River Canyon. Everyday you ride onto a new camp, travelling through the ever changing scenery. Your accommodation is a mix of camping and lodges. The finishing point is on the banks of the Orange river.
This is a trip for confident, fit riders only, with 81/2 days in the saddle, challenging landscapes and distances between 20 and 50km a day you need to have a good feel for horses and your abilities.
This trip is a great wilderness experience, you will be challenged but the rewards are well worth it. Deserted rides with dramatic landscapes, normally inaccessible areas, outdoor living and just beautiful scenery.
