MOZAMBIQUE HORSE SAFARI
The coastline around Vilanculos has some of the best scenery in the whole of Mozambique with white sandy beaches that stretch for tens of kilometres - perfect for sun bathing but better for an exhilirating gallop! You can race for ages along these beaches with no fences or crowds of people on beach mats to stop you.
This trip is based at a lodge on the Vilanculos coast. From here you have to opportunity to ride out on different trips exploring the surrounding area. You can gallop along the beaches, enjoy excellent views from view points along the coast, travel to nearby Benguerra Island for a ride or ride down to the local fishing viallge to meet the local people. This is a flexible trip so, should you feel like you need to take a day off to nurse any sore muscles, you can and there are numerous other activities to keep you amused from sunbathing to scuba diving.
Quite apart being a brilliant holiday if you love to ride, there is a fascinating story behind how this trip came to exist. It was set up with horses rescued from the farm invasions in Zimbabwe and then taken to safety in Mozambique. So a great holiday and an inspiring history to boot!
